Greetings Everyone
Growing up one of my favorite movies was the cartoon Disney film, “Robin Hood”. I loved the story of Robin the cunning fox and his faithful bear friend Little John, as they out maneuvered the nefarious King John. What made this “Phony King John” so nefarious? He cared only for money and power, and exploited the common folk of Nottingham. So often our world has seen leaders, politicians, people in powerful positions be exposed to their selfish greed and ambition. The Bible tells a different story of a King who redeems power and His Kingdom of which is characterized by justice and righteousness. In Zechariah chapter 9 we see a picture of this King and His Kingdom. This Sunday we will again focus on the hope that this King offers, as people of His Kingdom are, in a sense, prisoners of this hope. We are bound to remember this King, proclaim this King, and look forward to what this King is still doing and yet to do. Let us worship and bow down before the King!
