Greetings Everyone
Hello everyone! This next week brings about what Christians have historically known as “Holy Week”, which begins with “Palm Sunday” and ends with “Easter Sunday”. The title is a bit misleading because, in a sense, Christians are to treat every thing, all of time, money, our bodies, our lives, as Holy to the Lord. However; there is a sense by which we set aside this week with which we are drawn to the foundation of the news we confess to be good. If Jesus had not lived the perfect life, died the atoning death on the cross, and had been raised three days later to eternal majesty; we have no good news to report. But because He has risen, every Sunday we celebrate the resurrection. Just like we celebrate the birth of Jesus every year, we celebrate his death and resurrection once every year to remind us of our eternal reality. The apostle Paul put it this way, “ For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:3) That means for us, our eternal reality is caught up with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are “Made alive, or hidden” with the resurrected Jesus.
