FPC Kids

At FPC Whitefish our kids are part of a large family who care for and nurture them in their faith.  We value each child and try to include them in every way in our congregational life.  Aside from our Sunday school programs the kids at FPC are part of Fellowship, Worship, Community Outreach and Missions.

FPC kids participate in our monthly Sunday Fellowship meals by helping serve food, assisting with special activities and cleaning up.  The church also holds special Fellowship events for our kids such as a pumpkin carving contest, movie nights and special summer outings.

At FPC we encourage our children to be part of the Worship service on Sundays.  On any given Sunday you will see children singing up front as part of the worship team as well as playing instruments.  The first Sunday of June is Youth Sunday which is a celebration of all that God is doing in our kids’ lives.  The children and youth (middle/high schoolers) lead this service, and those who have gone through Confirmation will share their statements of faith.

Our church’s downtown location offers opportunities for Community Outreach.  FPC kids help serve hot chocolate and cookies and hand out candy canes and pencils during the Christmas Stroll and for our city’s Halloween Trick-Or-Treat Street we are on the corner giving out candy.

Establishing Mission opportunities for our kids is a growing passion at FPC.  Our kids have helped at Shepherd’s Hands Clinic serving meals, participated in Clean the Fish, packed boxes for Operation Christmas Child and made cards for residents at the Springs.  This year we are sending middle/high schoolers on a YouthWorks trip to South Dakota to serve the people of the Lakota tribe.  We always welcome ideas to help grow the area of Missions and involve our kids.

What to wear

God loves us just as we are.  You don’t have to dress fancy to please God.  In that light, at First Presbyterian, you will find people wear a bit of everything.  Some men wear coat and ties … some don’t.  Some women can be seen in dresses … others pants, jeans and blouses.

If you plan to go skiing or hiking following service, be dressed to hit the slopes or trails.

What we encourage people to remember is that we are coming to honor and worship the One who loves us more than any other.  As a result, we want to dress in an appropriate and honoring style.

Our Mission & Vision

At First Presbyterian Church Whitefish our vision and mission is to help connect people to faith.

Jesus said, “Even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many” Mark 10:45.

Christian living leads us to serve others. Within our church there are two areas of serving. Internally we call serving “Ministry.”  Outside the structure of our church we call serving “Missions.

Special Performances

Throughout the year our kids are able to perform on Sundays and special events, like Christmas Eve Service.  It’s just one way the kids are an essential part of our community at FPC.
