Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Here are three quick things to know for this week:
First of all, we are changing the way that we distribute this newsletter. You will still be able to find the Midweek Messenger on the website, but by the end of this month we will no longer be sending out the newsletter on email. The prayer chain will also be moving to text instead of email. We have to adjust because our current email service is changing its terms of service.
From now on we will be sending out the newsletter via text so that it will arrive on your phone. We are asking everyone to take sixty seconds and send in your phone number so that you can receive these texts. It just takes three steps.

- There should be a link highlighted in blue. Please click that and confirm your name.
That should work. We will take some time on Sunday working with everyone to make this shift. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the church office.
Thanks for working with us. I can assure you that these phone numbers will not leave the church office and will not be shared with anyone. This change will save the church money and allow Nichole to reach everyone more efficiently.
Secondly, our sermon series this month has been on different elements, or symbols, common in Christian worship – fire/candles, water, bread, crosses – and their biblical roots. This Sunday we will be turning our attention to the Bible. Many Protestant churches, such as this one, place a Bible front and center at the front of the church, a tradition that actually dates back to the Swiss Reformation of the 16th century. Looking at both Psalm 1 and II Timothy 3, our worship this Sunday will focus on how the Bible is central to our walk with God.
Finally, did you know that many of these symbols are present in the Presbyterian seal, which can be found in various spots around the church? At first glance it appears to be just a cross between two flames. Historically a cross surrounded by fire or a burning bush were common symbols for Protestant churches in the Reformation to show their endurance under the Inquisition. Just as the burning bush experienced fire but was not consumed, so the Reformed churches remained true under persecution. Yet if you look closer at the seal, you will also see a dove descending from Heaven, a Bible on a pulpit, and the cup of communion. Almost like one of those hidden picture games in Highlights magazine.

Glacier Camp Clean Up!
Join us at Glacier Camp on beautiful Flathead Lake for the annual clean up.

Presbyterian Women recently purchased the items on the “Wish list” for the Glacier Camp on Flathead lake . The items included : Inflatable paddle boards, Electric Weed Whackers, Cabellas/Snappys gift cards for Waterfront/Archery/Campout Supplies, Hobby Lobby gift card, and Bibles for Campers, a case of 50 paperback . The camp is still in need of an AED (defibrillator) and if anyone can provide information about obtaining one please contact the camp. Thanks.
We are grateful to Merri Williamson for purchasing these items and for the generosity of donors and the church family for insuring the campers and the staff will enjoy a Spirit filled season. God bless everyone and May everyone experience the love of Christ at Glacier Camp.
Community Outreach
Whitefish Care & Rehab is looking for donations of personal care items. When a new resident comes into the facility they are provided with standard items. It will be a beautiful collaboration if residents also see a basket filled with items donated by the community that demonstrates they are thought of and cared for.
We are looking for the following travel sized items and hope to make 10 baskets in total.

-Deodorant- Dove
-Lip balm
-Toothbrush & Toothpaste
-Activity books like sudoku and crosswords

-Juice box
You may drop off donated items in the church office or look for the Whitefish Care & Rehab box in Fellowship Hall.
